Armed Response

This week’s Tech update introduces the latest in proactive security – Virtual Line Crossing Technology. This impressive tech has proven to be successful in the prevention of crime. Yet another way in which Blue is implementing innovative technology, pushing the bounds of community security and progressing the fight against crime.
Line Crossing Technology is software that works with certain CCTV cameras. It allows you to draw virtual boundary lines in front of, on and around pre-selected areas, perimeters or objects. This includes entrances and exits, garage doors, parking spaces and even refuse bins, which are often stolen or used to gain access into properties.
Once the virtual lines have been drawn around your key concern areas, Line Crossing Technology will detect when these boundaries are crossed. If the intruder remains within the restricted area for a specific amount of time the technology classifies them as a suspect, sending a silent alert to both the resident and to our always vigilant CCTV operators.
This incredible technology even lets you create exceptions, such as specific times of the day when no one or nothing should be crossing the virtual line. For example, if your vehicle remains parked outside your property from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am every weekday a boundary can be created, that if crossed within that period an immediate alert of suspicious activity is sent.
When it comes to keeping your home, business and the greater community safe, preventative measures are key. When deployed strategically, Line Crossing Technology is a powerful tool that has been proven highly effective in busting criminals, preventing trespassing, home invasions, and theft. Another solution that emphasizes the effectiveness of a layered approach to security, starting from the community to your front door.
