Why was the Moseley Blue Zone initiated?

It all began with proactive crime concerned Moseley residents deciding that there was more that could be done to keep their neighbourhood safe which lead to the formation of the Moseley Neighbourhood Watch (MNW).

The MNW was founded by several residents back in 2006. Originally the founders were only going to focus on Cotham Road and Montgomery Crescent, but with news spreading about a proposed neighbourhood watch more roads wanted to partake in the fight against crime.

In 2016 the MNW committee decided to look into innovative solutions to help deter criminals from lurking the streets of Moseley and increase the safety of residents.

After sitting through numerous presentations by various security role-players, the MNW decided that a Blue Zone would be the best fit for the safety of Moseley residents.

Blue Security made several recommendations, one of these being dedicated armed response vehicles allocated to the MNW footprint.

There was only one obstacle that needed to be defeated and that was to get as many residents on board the Blue Zone project in order for the dedicated vehicles to be launched in the MNW footprint.

How and where was the Moseley Blue Zone initiated?

It was now time for MNW to rally members to signup to the Moseley Blue Zone in order for project members to benefit from two of their very own dedicated response vehicles.

After the MNW and residents canvassed the streets road by road, they came out the other side victorious with the launch of their first dedicated vehicle in 2018 and then the launch of their second dedicated vehicle in 2020.

Moseley managed to secure various “Eye in the Sky” cameras across the MNW footprint and during 2018 managed to secure high tech ANPR (Automated Number Plate Recognition) cameras as well.

These solutions have played a major role in the fight against crime in the Moseley area.

Blue Zone members can see the safety benefits of having dedicated security resources in the specified footprint and encourage the residents of Moseley to join the project to increase their security.

What security benefits do Moseley Blue Zone members have access to by being a part of the project?

  1. Two vehicles that never leave their designated footprints ensuring faster response times.
  2. A dedicated community management team to assist with your queries.
  3. ANPR cameras that recognise cars that have been reported as stolen, hijacked or wanted which instantly circulates a high alert notification to the police, security companies and neighbourhood watch role players participating in the project.
  4. Eye in the Sky cameras that monitor the comings and goings in the footprint and are highly visible to further serve as a deterrent to potential criminals.
  5. Ambassador and Tactical team community support for special operations.
  6. Two Free Blue Mobile Panic Apps per subscribed household

Wouldn’t you feel safer having these benefits? Think about the worry and angst that would be lifted off of your shoulders knowing that there are eyes in the sky and feet on the street looking out for you.

There is no doubt that Moseley residents can see the endless value in being a part of the project to reap the rewards of the dedicated security resources in the area looking after Blue Zone members all day every day.
