Armed Response

A Northdene resident was stabbed by an intruder who broke into his home early yesterday morning.
Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said an armed response officer had responded to the scene of the stabbing when the victim’s wife pressed a panic button at around 5.50am.
“The resident was in the kitchen of his home in Reed Place when he suddenly noticed a man standing behind him. A scuffle broke out and the suspect pulled a kitchen knife on him and stabbed him in the abdomen,” he said. “The victim’s wife was still asleep, but awoke to her husband’s screams for help and sounded the alarm. A Netcare paramedic attended the scene of the crime.”
Jackson said it was unclear how the suspect had gained entry onto the property, but the resident’s wife had indicated that it was the third attack on the victim over the past week.
Malvern SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
