Multiple Shots Fired: Motorist Killed in Pinetown Drive-by Shooting

One man was instantly killed in a drive-by shooting in the Pinetown area on Monday evening.
“The Blue Security control room was notified via many calls from the community that multiple gunshots had been fired on a motorist on Old Main Road, Pinetown, near a major supermarket,” said Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios.
“It is alleged that the vehicle had been followed by unknown armed gunmen. When the motorist stopped at the traffic lights an armed gunman emerged from the car that was following and opened fire on the victim.
“The motorist was killed instantly and drove into the rear of a stationary vehicle in front of him. The attackers fled in an unknown direction,” Mathios said. First responders arrived at the scene and immediately cordoned off the area for police investigations. “It is unclear at this stage what the motive was for the shooting which is currently under investigation by Pinetown SAPS,” Mathios said.
