Pinetown woman hijacked by opportunistic criminals

A Pinetown woman hijacked outside a property in Westermeyer Road on Saturday afternoon was uninjured when an armed robber held her up.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said the woman was parked outside a property where a resident was busy negotiating the sale of a car seat at around 1.50pm, when the hijackers struck.
“The resident was standing at his gate in the process of selling the car seat to a visitor when two suspects, one of them armed with a firearm, initially accosted them before turning to the woman who was parked outside the property in her vehicle,” he said. “They hijacked the woman of her vehicle and fled in the direction of Claremont. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was later recovered in the Wyebank area.”
Pinetown SAPS attended the scene of the hijacking.
