Armed Response

A Pinetown family escaped a harrowing home invasion unharmed on Friday morning, but the robbers managed to get away with their vehicle and other valuables.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said a Fernleigh Road resident was sitting in the lounge with her mother at around 8.50am when she heard the dogs barking and looked out the window to investigate. “She spotted three men approaching the house and ran to lock the lounge door, but the suspects managed to get in and held the family and a domestic worker up at gunpoint,” Mathios said.
“The suspects tied up the victims and taped up their mouths before grabbing jewellery, laptops, cellphones and other valuables and fleeing with them in the resident’s vehicle. No injuries were reported,” he said.
Pinetown SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
