Incident: Highjacking & Kidnapping
KwaMakhutha SAPS alerted security teams to be on the lookout for a white Toyota van that had been hijacked during a business robbery, where victims were also forcibly taken by the suspects. The incident raised immediate concerns, as both the stolen vehicle and the well-being of the victims were at stake.
A breakthrough came when the vehicle’s tracker was activated, prompting a coordinated response. Blue Security, alongside Amanzimtoti Crime Prevention unit, sprang into action, tracking the signal and eventually locating the abandoned van. Upon securing the scene and confirming the vehicle’s recovery, SAPS KwaMakhutha continued their efforts to find the kidnapped victims.
Thankfully, the police managed to locate all victims safely, with no injuries reported. The successful outcome of this incident highlights the power of swift collaboration between SAPS, community policing, and private security forces in responding to serious crimes.
