Proactive Patrol Disrupts Suspected Theft — Stolen Infrastructure Recovered

A dedicated Blue Security Tactical Officer was conducting visibility patrols in and around the Bayview area when he noticed a suspicious male at the corner of Summerfield and Havenside Road carrying a bag. Upon noticing the officer, the suspect immediately dropped the bag and fled into nearby flats, successfully evading arrest.

Recovery of Suspected Stolen Infrastructure    

The Tactical Officer conducted a search of the abandoned bag and discovered what appeared to be stolen infrastructure, including a water meter containing electrical cables.

The recovered items were secured and transported for safekeeping to members of Bayview SAPS.

Operational Impact   

This incident highlights the value of proactive patrols and situational awareness in disrupting criminal activity. Although the suspect evaded arrest, the swift response resulted in the recovery of critical infrastructure, preventing potential financial loss and service disruption within the community.
