Proactive Patrol in Chatsworth Leads to Arrest and Seizure of Replica Firearm

Suspicious Activity Noticed During Routine Patrol    

A routine early-morning patrol by a Blue Security Tactical Officer resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of housebreaking tools and a replica firearm in Montford, Chatsworth.

Officer Questions Suspicious Individuals    

While patrolling Road 703, the Tactical Officer observed two males walking with a blue bag under suspicious circumstances. When approached and questioned, the individuals were unable to give a reasonable explanation for their presence or the contents they were carrying. Recognising the potential risk, the officer immediately requested backup.

Backup Arrives and Evidence Is Found  

Blue Security Armed Response Officers arrived promptly to assist. During the engagement, the suspects were found in possession of housebreaking tools as well as a silver replica firearm.

Suspects Arrested and Handed Over to SAPS  

Both suspects were arrested on scene, handcuffed, and the Blue Security Control Room notified SAPS. The suspects were then handed over to officers from Chatsworth SAPS for detention and further investigation.
