Proactive Patrol Leads to Early Morning Arrests

During an early morning patrol at approximately 05:30 on 05 February 2026, Blue Security Tactical Units were conducting routine patrols along the M13 in the Fields Hill area.

While patrolling near Jerome Drive, members observed two suspicious males hiding in bushes adjacent to the roadway. Due to the suspicious nature of their behaviour, officers approached the individuals to conduct further investigation.


Suspect Apprehension 

Upon inspection, the suspects were found to be in possession of multiple items, including packets of cigarettes, lighters, gas bottles, and a vehicle jack. One suspect attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended by responding members.

Both suspects were successfully restrained and secured without further incident.  

The suspects, together with the recovered items suspected to be stolen, were handed over to members of Pinetown SAPS. The suspects were detained for being in possession of property suspected to be stolen.

This incident underscores the effectiveness of proactive patrols, early intervention, and visible policing in identifying suspicious activity and preventing potential criminal acts before they escalate.
