Proactive Patrol Leads to Recovery of Stolen Property in Berea

While conducting routine visibility patrols in the Berea area, a Blue Security Armed Response Officer observed a suspicious male walking along the road carrying two tyres and two rims.

The officer stopped and questioned the individual, who claimed that he had found the items outside a nearby property. Additional Tactical support arrived on scene, and the South African Police Service was dispatched.
Further investigation led to contact being made with a nearby resident, who confirmed that the tyres and rims belonged to him and had been stolen from his property. The items were positively identified and returned to the owner.
Although the complainant declined to open a case, the suspect was taken by the South African Police Service for further investigation and processing.
