Quick Response Leads to Intruder Detained

Armed Response officers were dispatched following a report from a client indicating that an unknown male had entered the property. Upon arrival, the suspect was located standing against the premises and initially refused to comply with instructions given by the responding officers.

Tactical Support and Compliance  

Additional tactical support arrived on scene together with a Response Manager. The suspect was again instructed to cooperate and was directed to lie down on the ground. After further instruction from the tactical member, the suspect eventually complied.

Investigation at the Scene    

It was established that the suspect had gained entry to the property by jumping over an electric fence at the rear of the premises and subsequently breaking through a glass window of the kitchen area of a cottage on the property. During the process, the suspect sustained injuries.

Handover to Authorities    

Members of the South African Police Service from SAPS Berea attended the scene and took control of the situation. Due to concerns regarding the suspect’s condition and behaviour, SAPS transported the individual to hospital for further assessment.

The client expressed appreciation for the swift response and assistance provided by the security teams.
