Quick Thinking Prevents Vehicle Theft in Croftdene
Community Alerts Lead to Rapid Response
Blue Security Tactical Officers were dispatched to Katurdene Road in Croftdene following alerts received via community WhatsApp groups regarding an attempted motor vehicle theft. Upon arrival, officers established that the suspects had moved the vehicle from a nearby road but were unable to drive it away due to a built-in immobiliser system. After unsuccessfully attempting to roll-start the vehicle, the suspects abandoned it and fled the area on foot.
Officers Assist Elderly Vehicle Owner
Officers remained on scene and assisted the elderly vehicle owner, ensuring his safety and providing guidance on the next steps. The owner was escorted to the police station to open a case for insurance purposes; however, assistance was not immediately available. Officers then safely escorted the owner back to his residence, where arrangements were made for further follow-up with the South African Police Service.
