Reaction officer recovers stolen goods in Amanzimtoti

Blue Security armed response officers recovered a stolen cellphone and a television after arresting a robber and a housebreaker in the Amanzimtoti area this week.
Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said a housebreaker was arrested after he broke into a house in Bonaventura Avenue in Kingsburgh at 9.50am on Monday. “Housebreakers jumped over the back fence of the property and forced open a security gate and the front door to gain entry. They fled with a flat screen television,” he said.
However, Jackson said an armed response officer who responded to the scene gave chase, arrested one of the suspects and recovered the television. “Our officer escorted the suspect to the police station,” he said.
Jackson said the second arrest took place in Kingsway Road in Amanzimtoti just before 2pm after a plumber was robbed of his cellphone. “Our officer arrested the robber and recovered the cellphone,” he said.
Amanzimtoti SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
