Armed Response

Blue Security armed response officers and a Durban North resident tracked down and arrested a repeat offender who had allegedly been seen repeatedly trespassing and tampering with a security hut in Fairway.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said the armed response officers responded to a panic alarm activation in Fairway at around 2pm. “The resident reported that he had seen a suspect in front of his house at the guard hut which had previously been broken into. He alleged that the suspect had also previously been seen on his property stealing goods,” Mathios said.
“The officers took a description of the suspect and patrolled the area in search of him with the resident driving closely behind them. The resident pointed the suspect out when he spotted him sitting on a bridge on the corner of Swapo Road and Fairway. The officers arrested him and called Durban North SAPS to the scene, who released him on a warning as he was not in possession of any stolen goods,” Mathios said.
