Residential Raid: Illegal Bellair Business Busted in Covert Operation
Strong teamwork by Hawks, crime Intelligence, Metro K9 and Metro Crime prevention Ops teams lead to the successful arrest of a suspect operating an illegal call centre in the Bellair area, yesterday evening.
Assisted by Blue Security Tactical, the property was raided at around 9.15pm after receiving crime intelligence that the call centre was operating from a residential address. Its alleged that a Taxi ferrying staff from the property had been pulled over and on further investigation it was established that the passengers were employees at the call centre.
Upon the arrival an undisclosed number of desktop PC’s and laptops were discovered all of which were linked online to an overseas call centre. Computer towers, laptops and other electronic items were seized by the Hawks.
The operation was shut down, and the manager detained and taken to the Bellair Police station for processing. The manager will also be charged for contravening the lockdown regulations
