Safety tips for panhandle driveways

Panhandle driveways often arise when a property is subdivided and a long driveway runs parallel to a neighbour’s wall or fence, making this a tight spot if you are caught in it by a potential hijacker or intruder. Or if we are responding to an emergency, every second counts – so your house may not be visible from the road, but it is vital that your property is located as quickly as possible.
Here are our top safety tips for panhandle driveways:

  1. Valuable time is wasted if your house number is not visible. Be sure your property number is visible day and night from the road.
  2. If possible, have your gate at the entrance of the panhandle entrance.
  3. Make certain the entire driveway is well lit.
  4. Be sure to display your security company’s board at the top of the driveway, so your property can easily found in case of an emergency.
