Shots fired following Yellowwood Park housebreaking

Shots were fired following a housebreaking in Yellowwood Park yesterday.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said an armed response officer had responded to a property in Wagtail Walk at around 12.02pm when he pursued an alleged housebreaker.
“Our armed response officer called for backup and chased the suspect, who was running down the road carrying stolen goods. Our officer shouted at the suspect to stop, but instead he turned and pointed a firearm at our officer who then fired two shots in his direction,” Mathios said.
Mathios said the uninjured suspect then jumped into a property in Snipe Road and managed to evade arrest.
“Our officer searched for him, but he was nowhere to be found,” Mathios said.
