Remarkably and intricately designed, the Ammazulu Palace depicts the artistic work behind Durban artist Peter Amm’s creative vision. Amm’s vision can be admired by viewing the elaborately crafted hallways, decorated walkways and bedrooms that were inspired by Zulu heritage and culture.
In order to create this masterpiece, Amm made use of every piece in his entire collection of Zulu arts and crafts and incorporated it all into more than 40 beaded columns of exquisite beauty.
The palace was designed principally by Kevin MacGarry of Architects Collaborative, with assistance from the owner, who has nurtured the site for some four decades. African bead work, art, artifacts and statues can be found all around this truly spectacular venue on the outskirts of the Kloof Gorge.
