Armed Response

Petty crimes are becoming far too casual. Whether it’s a person wondering through property that doesn’t belong to them, vandalizing public or private places and in this video, sticky fingers that steal during a petty theft committed at a café in Pretoria last week Wednesday.
So many criminals are just too good at acting natural before pouncing on their targets. It’s either because this pre-crime stall time is a vital part of initiating the felony or because practice makes perfect (maybe a bit of both).
Pre-crime stall time is the last moment before a crime is committed, where the decision can be made to carry out the crime or to walk away.
In this video you can see the thief standing around and taking in his surroundings while talking, or pretending to talk, on his cellphone before making his move.
Before pouncing, the thief slides his phone into his pocket while he slithers between the cars like a snake in the grass zoning in on its next prey.
In a matter of seconds, the thief takes his opportunity and strikes. The culprit swiftly swings his upper body over the cafe’s patio railing and snatches the victim’s phone directly out of his top pocket and immediately flees the scene.
Have you ever seen a petty crime take place right in front of you? What was it and how did you react?
