Armed Response

A stolen bicycle was recovered and returned to a delighted Glenwood resident by Blue Security Community Crime Prevention Unit members on Friday morning, just hours after it went missing.
“Various units reacted to the callout from the cyclist, in the Glenwood area, when he realized his garage door had been opened and that the bicycle was missing,” said Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, “after receiving a detailed description of the bicycle two armed-response officers set off to try and track down the perpetrator.”
The chase proved successful and the suspect was chased for nearly 1.5 kilometres before he abandoned the bicycle and attempted to evade being apprehended.
“The bicycle was retrieved in JB Marks Road and the suspect apprehended by the Blue Security officers. The resident was so relieved to have his bicycle returned to him. He declined to press charges and the suspect was released with a warning,” he said.
