Blue Security armed response officers arrested two suspects and recovered stolen goods in the Amanzimtoti area yesterday.

The suspect arrested in Blaze Way.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said an armed response officer responded to the scene of a crime at a property in Blaze Way in Amanzimtoti following a housebreaking. The incident occurred at around 5.45pm.
“A suspect had broken into a garage on the premises and stolen a bar fridge and two lamps. The officer patrolled the area and spotted a suspect walking along the road carrying the bar fridge and the two lamps. He stopped the suspect and questioned him before placing him under arrest,” Mathios said.
“The suspect was handed over to the Amanzimtoti SAPS,” Mathios said.
Mathios said an alleged trespasser was arrested earlier yesterday at around 7.40am after he attempted to break into a property in Heather Road in Athlone Park. “The armed response officer patrolled the area in search of the suspect who was fence hopping in a bid to evade arrest. The officer managed to apprehend the suspect and take him back to the resident’s premises,” Mathios said.
However, he said the resident decided not to open a case against the suspect and the officer escorted him out of the area.
