Stolen Toyota Prado Recovered Before Owner Realised It Was Missing

Blue Security Tactical Officers received information from Tracker South Africa regarding a Toyota Prado transmitting from the Umlazi area under suspicious circumstances.
Members immediately mobilised to investigate and successfully located the vehicle. Upon inspection, it was found to have been partially stripped of its interior, indicating that it had likely been stolen.
While Tactical Officers secured the scene, Blue Security’s Upper Highway Dedicated Vehicle traced the owner at a property on Valley Road in Hillcrest. It was then established that the Toyota Prado had been stolen during a burglary, with the owner still unaware that the vehicle had been taken.
Tracker South Africa and Umlazi SAPS attended the scene, and the recovered vehicle was handed over for the necessary investigation and recovery procedures.
The successful recovery highlights the value of rapid intelligence sharing, proactive response and strong collaboration between Blue Security, vehicle tracking companies and law enforcement, resulting in the vehicle being recovered before the owner had even realised it had been stolen.
