Stolen Tyres Recovered After Alert Public Tips Off Tactical Officer

While conducting patrols in the Havenside area, a Blue Security Tactical Officer was approached by a member of the public who reported seeing a male walking in the area carrying two tyres and two rims.
The Tactical Officer strategically positioned himself along the route connecting the surrounding streets and successfully intercepted and apprehended the suspect.
During initial questioning, the suspect provided inconsistent explanations regarding the origin of the items. He subsequently admitted to jumping over a property fence in Havenside and allegedly stealing the tyres and rims from the homeowner.
A Blue Security Armed Response Officer was requested to verify the information with the property owner. The homeowner confirmed the theft, while Bayview SAPS members attended the scene.
The suspect, along with the recovered tyres and rims, was handed over to SAPS for further processing. The homeowner proceeded to the police station to open a criminal case.
