Armed Response

In Bellair, an unknown number of suspects gave up on their attempted car theft; the stolen vehicle was recovered.
“A quick patrol by a Blue Security armed-response officer, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, resulted in the recovery of a vehicle stolen earlier in Bellair,” said Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, “The recovery followed a panic activation received from the Bellair resident after he had seen his vehicle reversing up his driveway.”
The car owner had been alerted by the sound of the engine starting and, on checking, saw his vehicle disappearing off the property.
The Blue Security armed-response officer immediately began a patrol of the area and, a short while later, discovered the abandoned vehicle about two kilometres away from where it had been removed. The bakkie was fitted with a gear lock, which meant the suspects had driven the vehicle in reverse before abandoning it,” Mathios said.
“Bellair SAPS attended the scene and the bakkie’s owner was informed of the stolen vehicle recovered. The vehicle was transferred by SAPS for further processing in connection with the case,” he said.
