Success Report: House Robbery and Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Umlazi

Location: Umhlatuzana, Chatsworth
Incident: Stolen Items and Vehicle Recovered

Blue Security received information about a vehicle fitted with a tracking device that had been stolen during a house robbery in Umhlatuzana. The vehicle’s coordinates were shared, and our CCPU, in collaboration with a tracking company, located it abandoned in Umlazi F Section. The vehicle had been stripped of its interior. Shortly afterward, other security service providers arrived to assist.

Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the vehicle was stolen during a house robbery earlier that morning. The suspects had cut the lock on the driveway gate, forced open a sliding glass door, and entered the house. According to the resident, the incident occurred around 01:00 a.m. when three armed suspects, all wearing balaclavas, held the family at gunpoint.

The suspects forced the residents from their bedrooms into the passage, where they were tied up and gagged with tape. The suspects ransacked the home, stealing several items, including:

3x Cellphones
1x Flat Screen TV
1x Microwave
1x Kettle
Jewelry
An undisclosed amount of cash from the safe

The suspects then fled in the homeowner’s vehicle, which was later recovered by Blue Security and the tracking company. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. Bayview SAPS attended the scene and will be handling further investigations.
