Quick Thinking Leads to Arrest: Suspects Arrested with Housebreaking Tools in Moseley

Proactive Response in Moseley Leads to Swift Arrest
On 10 July 2025, residents in Montgomery Crescent, Moseley, alerted Blue Security to suspicious activity after suspects were seen moving around nearby properties and along Beves and Pioneer Road.

Blue Security’s Tactical Unit, together with four Armed Response Officers, immediately responded and began patrolling the area. During this proactive search, our Tactical Officer noticed a stationary red vehicle on the M7 westbound off-ramp. Moments later, two suspects carrying a rucksack ran up the embankment and climbed into a Renault Triber parked nearby.

Recognising the urgency, our Officer called for backup and successfully stopped the vehicle on Main Road, near the M7 on-ramp. As additional Armed Response teams arrived, one suspect attempted to flee by jumping out and running down towards the M7.

The driver and another suspect were secured on the scene. Upon inspecting the rucksack inside the vehicle, officers found various housebreaking tools, including beanies, gloves, socks, a wheel spanner, several screwdrivers, and pliers. These items strongly indicated that the suspects were prepared for further criminal activities.

Members of SAPS Malvern arrived within minutes and took over the scene. The suspects were officially charged with possession of housebreaking implements.

A Community Protected Through Teamwork

This incident demonstrates the value of vigilant community members working hand-in-hand with a dedicated security team. Through fast communication and decisive action, potential break-ins were prevented before further harm could occur.

“Our priority is always to act swiftly and decisively. The success of this operation shows the strength of our collaboration with residents and the SAPS, ensuring our neighbourhoods remain safe,” said Keith du Randt, Blue Security Community Manager.
