Suspicious Activity Leads to Detention of Two Men
Area: Windermere
Date: 13 June 2026
Blue Security members responded to a report of a suspected intruder on the roof of a property in Windermere. Upon arrival, a thorough inspection of the premises was conducted; however, no suspect was located.
While returning to the patrol vehicle via the rear of the property, responding members observed two males carrying large bags in the vicinity. The individuals were stopped and searched due to their suspicious behaviour.
The search revealed that the bags contained spades, as well as copper and aluminium cables. The circumstances surrounding the possession of these items could not be immediately verified.
Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) were contacted and responded to the scene. The two suspects were taken into custody for further investigation after claiming they had been given the spades. The origin of the recovered cables remains the subject of an ongoing SAPS investigation.
