Suspicious Individual Found with Gas Cylinder During Early Morning Patrol 

Area: Chatsworth, Croftdene 

Date: 7 June 2026  

While conducting routine patrols along Croftdene Drive during the early hours of the morning, a Blue Security Tactical member observed a male carrying a gas cylinder under suspicious circumstances. 

The individual was stopped and questioned regarding his presence in the area and the origin of the gas cylinder. The male stated that he had travelled from Umlazi and was on his way to Welbedacht to sell the cylinder. However, he was unable to provide a verifiable address or satisfactory explanation regarding the ownership of the item. 

Further enquiries were conducted, including an attempt to contact a family member identified by the individual. The person contacted advised that they had no knowledge of the circumstances described by the male, raising further concerns regarding the legitimacy of his explanation. 

Due to the suspicious circumstances and the inability to verify ownership of the gas cylinder, the individual and the property were detained pending handover to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
