Armed Response

While conducting routine patrols between Caspian Road, Crimby Road, and Florence Nightingale Drive in the Westcliff area of Chatsworth, Blue Security Tactical Officer observed a suspicious male carrying a Woolworths shopping bag.
The individual was stopped for questioning, and upon inspection, he was found to be in possession of vehicle parts as well as various tools suspected to have been used to remove the parts
When questioned regarding the origin of the items, the suspect initially claimed that the vehicle parts had been given to him by a nearby towing service. Tactical members followed up on the information and made contact with the towing service owner, who denied having any knowledge of the suspect or the items in question.
Blue Security Tactical Command thereafter coordinated with the South African Police Service Chatsworth and Blue Security CCTV operators to review camera footage in the Florence Nightingale area to determine whether the suspect had exited any nearby properties.
Members of the South African Police Service Chatsworth attended the scene and took possession of the vehicle parts for further investigation. The suspect was subsequently handed over to SAPS Chatsworth members for further investigation and processing.
