Swift Response to Vehicle Theft Attempt in Woodhurst

A Blue Security Armed Response Officer responded to reports of a vehicle theft in progress along Asteroid Road in the Woodhurst area.

Upon arrival, the officer observed one of the suspects climbing into a Toyota Cross that was being targeted. As the suspects noticed the response vehicle, they immediately fled the scene in a white sedan, abandoning the targeted vehicle.

The responding officer initiated a foot pursuit in an attempt to apprehend the suspects; however, they managed to evade capture. Additional Tactical and K9 units conducted patrols in the surrounding area in an effort to intercept the fleeing vehicle, but without success.

The targeted vehicle was secured on scene, preventing the theft. A case was opened with the South African Police Service for further investigation.
