Tactical Toti crime fighting efforts strengthened with local seasoned professional

Blue Security has deployed a seasoned security professional to Amanzimtoti to reinforce its tactical armed response strategy and support residents in the fight against crime.
Blue Security operation director Brian Jackson said the firm had a long track record in the support of the Amanzimtoti community. “We made the strategic decision a few years back to deploy a dedicated tactical operator to support the community in its endeavours to fight crime. ‘Triple M’, as he is well known, has proved to be extremely capable and is a valued member of the local community. His successes have been well documented as he daily keeps pressure on any known criminals in the area,” Jackson said.
Jackson said that the firm had as part of its ongoing investment in fighting crime in Amanzimtoti now deployed Eugene Engelbrecht to the neighbourhood team as a tactical community ambassador. Engelbrecht is a seasoned local security professional and a member of the SAPS Reserve Unit. He previously served as operations manager of the Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) and is a local Amanzimtoti resident.
Engelbrecht has a wealth of experience in policing and in the security sector and has been recognised internationally for his involvement in community policing work. He was nominated as a finalist in the Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) International Innovations Awards Programme in the category for Innovations in Citizen Engagement and Dialogue and received a commendation from the SAPS for his involvement in community policing in 2013.

Local security professional, Amanzimtoti man, Eugene Engelbrecht, who has dedicated his career to law enforcement and as a private contractor will serve as the dedicated Blue Security Tactical Community Ambassador in Amanzimtoti.

“Together with ‘Triple M’, and the four armed response vehicles dedicated to the Amanzimtoti neighbourhood, this formidable team will be geared towards empowering residents in the fight against crime,” Jackson said.
Jackson said Engelbrecht’s role will be to foster relationships with SAPS in support of community and sector policing initiatives and to provide additional tactical support for clients. “Blue Security is delighted to have Eugene on board as he will be working closely with the police, residents, the CCPO and our armed response officers. Together we will take the battle to the next level as we seek to remove opportunistic and organised criminals from our neighbourhoods. Sending the strong message that crime will not be tolerated, we are already supporting various groups in their efforts and will be deploying smart technology to further support crime fighting initiatives,” he said.
Engelbrecht previously ran his own security firm focusing on specialised anti-poaching operations, while fulfilling his duties as a police reservist. He has also worked extensively in Limpopo province assisting residents in community policing projects. Engelbrecht, who until recently was working on the continent as a security contractor, took up the opportunity to join Blue Security, when he returned home. “I am proud to be associated with Blue. The firm’s integrity and commitment to fighting crime is aligned with my own values,” he said.
