
Suspect arrested in Prospecton.
Blue Security armed response officers arrested two alleged thieves who jumped into properties in Memorial Park and Prospecton at the weekend.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said a suspect jumped over the front wall of a property in Sarnia Road in Memorial park at 7.30am yesterday where he grabbed a wooden table and fled back over the wall.
“The resident spotted the suspect fleeing the scene with the table and shouted at him. The suspect dropped the table in the road and started running down Sarnia Road,” Mathios said. “Our officer responded to the scene and arrested the suspect at the corner of Stella and Sarnia Roads. He was handed over to Bellair SAPS at the scene. The table was recovered and handed back to the resident.”
Mathios said the second suspect was arrested at a business premises in Transport Road in Prospecton after he climbed over a wall to gain entry into the premises at around 7.50am. “Our armed response officer responded to an alarm activation at the business premises where he arrested the suspect who he caught in the process of stealing a metal tray. The suspect was handed over to the Isipingo SAPS at the scene of the crime,” Mathios said.
