THREE HIJACKED AND STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED IN A MATTER OF HOURS
Areas: Montclair, Lamontville, Umlazi & Mayville.
Date: 3 July 2026
In a remarkable display of coordinated response and teamwork, Blue Security Tactical Officers and Armed Response Officers assisted in the recovery of three hijacked and stolen vehicles within a matter of hours.
The first incident involved the hijacking of a vehicle in the Montclair area. Blue Security Armed Response Officers attended the scene, where the victim used a vehicle tracking application on his mobile phone to identify the vehicle’s location near the entrance to Lamontville. Responding members immediately accompanied the victim to the location, where the hijacked vehicle was successfully recovered. The vehicle was subsequently handed over to Montclair SAPS for further investigation.
In the second incident, Blue Security Tactical Officers responded to information regarding a Toyota that had been stolen in the Durban area. Tracking information indicated that the vehicle was in Umlazi. Working alongside Capital Air, Tactical Officers conducted a coordinated search and successfully located the stolen vehicle, which was safely returned to its owner.
The third incident involved a Suzuki Ertiga that had been hijacked in the Mayville area. During the hijacking, the driver sustained injuries before being left on the roadside by the suspects. The victim was later found by friends and transported to hospital for medical treatment. Blue Security Tactical Officers responded to tracking information and successfully recovered the hijacked vehicle in Umlazi. The vehicle was secured and handed over to Cartrack upon their arrival.
The successful recovery of three vehicles in such a short period demonstrates the effectiveness of rapid response, intelligence-led operations and the strong partnerships between Blue Security, tracking companies and law enforcement.
