Torrential Downpour Tears Through Durban’s City Centre
Just when you start to think that life could not possibly get any more bizarre than it already is, nature comes out in full force, hitting the CBD with a vengeful, unprecedented freak storm.
Multiple reports of flash flooding in and around Durban’s city centre came in on Tuesday, last week. The unexpected torrential downpour caused stormwater drains to back up and water to flow through the city streets.
Residents attempted to lift stormwater drain covers to alleviate the buildup of water around the affected areas, but this did not prevent the damage that was done to many homes and businesses.
