Blue loves Durban

Tickle your taste buds at this trendy Litchi Festival.

litchi-festivalHave you got a sweet tooth but already tired of the sugary festive treats? Switch it up and get some fruity freshness at Durban’s annual Litchi Festival. Enjoy a day out in the sun living the farm life. Experience childhood again by hopping on the tractor for a trip. Have a picnic next to the dam and enjoy being out of the house, away from the computer and experiencing the beauty that nature has to offer.

Set out on a day trip with your friends and family over this festive period and head up the north coast for a picnic and litchi picking party. Litchi season has begun and it is time for you to have some fun, fruit and flavour.

Just imagine it’s a hot summer day and you pick up a small rough spherical fruit of goodness. You bite into its skin and open the casing. Your taste buds become excited, they know that they’re in for a blast of fruity, juicy joy.

The shell has been cracked, now it’s time for the real bite and the tasty treasured flavours of the litchi have been released.

What to eat what to eat? Swap the Christmas cake for a truly tasty treat, a litchi!

The festival is a no bookings event but works on a first come first served basis with tractor trips happening every 15 to 20 minutes.
