Two busted in Durban North

Two suspects were busted in Durban North last week for tampering with a vehicle. There has been a noticeable spike in the number of incidents reported on theft of vehicles, and theft out of vehicles, since the start of the new year.
Last week one of our reaction officers, Kwenzile, was standing down on the corner of North Coast Road and Effingham Road when he was approached by a staff member of a nearby business. He advised Kwenzile that he spotted two suspicious men tampering with a vehicle.
Kwenzile responded to question the two suspects, who he found still busy fiddling with the car, and he noticed that the doors had been unlocked. He quickly detained them before proceeding to investigate the circumstances. The vehicle has been booked in for a service and the company was able to contact the client to advise him of the incident. Greenwood Park SAPS attended and arrested the suspects.
If possible try not to park on the street, and be sure to remove any valuables since these are not safe in plain sight or even in the boot.
