Armed Response

Blue Security has warned parents to be vigilant when picking up and dropping off children at school following a recent remote jamming incident at a Westville school.
Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said a parent had arrived at the school to drop off his child when the incident occurred on Monday at around 7.15am. “The parent parked his car near the school and got out before attempting to lock it. But the vehicle would not lock and he looked around and noticed three suspicious men sitting nearby in an older model grey Toyota,” Jackson said.
“When the men saw the parent looking at them, they fled in their vehicle. After the men had driven off the parent was able to lock his vehicle without any problem. Fortunately, the parent’s vigilance paid off in this case,” he said.
Jackson advised parents to be security conscious when dropping off and picking up children from school, as criminals rely on the element of surprise and the fact that parents are often distracted and greeting their children or saying goodbye at the school gate.
