Wanted criminal chased down by reaction officers and Phoenix residents

Blue Security armed response officers together with Phoenix residents have nabbed an allegedly dangerous wanted criminal. He is wanted by the police for almost a dozen other serious and violent crimes including armed robbery and attempted murder.
Blue Security operations director Brian Jackson said two officers were patrolling the neighbourhood in Grove End Drive near Stanmore Park on Thursday last week, when they noticed two residents chasing a suspect into the park.
“The officers stopped to investigate and the residents advised that the suspect had allegedly broken into a house, together with two other men who had managed to get away. The officers gave chase and after a tussle they managed to arrest the suspect who was found to be carrying housebreaking implements and an okapi knife. The suspect had injuries to his face because members of the public had allegedly assaulted him before he earlier managed to evade arrest,” he said.
Jackson said the suspect was handed over to the Phoenix police and a case of housebreaking was opened. “At the police station it emerged that the suspect was wanted for 22 other pending cases against him ranging from armed robberies, attempted murder, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and house robberies.”
Jackson commended the hard work and dedication of the officers. “We are committed to the fight against crime and to working closely with residents to provide visible policing and protection in the communities that we serve. We will continue to work closely with residents and the police to bring swift justice to bear as we strive to make our neighbourhoods feel safe again,” he said.
