Manhunt for Wanted Gillitts Criminal Results in Breakthrough Arrest

A housebreaking suspect was tracked down, after a large-scale manhunt through the Gillitts area on Wednesday morning, and an arrest was made.
“Blue Security’s Community Crime Prevention Unit and armed response officers scrambled into action after being informed of the incident on their security networks,” said Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios.
“The suspect had initially been spotted entering a Gillitts property and had begun ransacking the interior before possibly being disturbed,” Mathios said.

“After a description of the suspect had been circulated, based on information supplied, multiple units began patrolling the community. Various Blue Security officers and members of the Blue Community Crime Prevention Unit responded to the alert of the incident,” he said.
“A massive search ensued as the suspect had gone on the run and made off into a riverbed. The chase covered a distance of more than two kilometres from the crime scene. However, the suspect was eventually spotted by a member of the Community Crime Prevention Unit and successfully detained,” he said.
“The Gillitts suspect was handed over to the relevant authorities for further processing after the arrest, once additional resources arrived at the scene and confirmed that the man was the suspect wanted for the original housebreaking,” said Mathios.
The suspect has also been linked to multiple other crimes in the area through Blue Security’s crime intelligence networks.
