Wanted Suspect Apprehended at Montford Shopping Centre

 Blue Security Armed Response Officers and Tactical Units received information regarding two suspicious males allegedly loitering around the ATM machines at Montford Shopping Centre in Chatsworth during the early hours of the morning.

Responding teams proceeded to the location and successfully detained one of the suspects while the second suspect managed to flee the scene before officers arrived.

A search was conducted on the detained suspect, during which members recovered a toy firearm in his possession. Members of the South African Police Service Chatsworth attended the scene, and the suspect was transported to the Police Station for further investigation and processing.

Further background checks conducted by SAPS revealed that the suspect was allegedly wanted in connection with multiple offences, with several cases reportedly registered at the South African Police Service Umlazi Police Station. Victims were contacted and positively identified the suspect, resulting in his immediate arrest.
