A wanted suspect linked to the theft of a bicycle in the Waterfall area was successfully detained by a Blue Security Tactical Officer on 12 November 2025, bringing a weeks-long search to a close.
Details of the Initial Theft
The incident dated back to 17 October 2025, when a bicycle was stolen from a client’s property. Following the theft, a picture of the suspect was circulated while Blue Security awaited the homeowner’s official case registration. Once a case number was received, Hillcrest SAPS officers intensified efforts to locate the suspect.
Apprehension of the Suspect
On 12 November, a Blue Security Tactical Officer identified and detained the wanted suspect in the Forest Hills area. The stolen bicycle was handed over to SAPS and booked in. The suspect was handed over to the Hillcrest South African Police Service for further processing.
