Armed Response

A Westriding woman was injured when she tried to jump out of a window during a home invasion yesterday.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said two suspects had gained entry into her Marion Road home at around 8.36am. “The suspects accosted the woman inside her house while she was busy cleaning and threatened to shoot her, although they did not produce a firearm during the robbery. The resident injured her leg when she tried to run away by jumping through a window.”
Mathios said the suspects fled with two watches, jewellery, a tablet and a wallet containing an undisclosed sum of cash. “Paramedics treated the resident in her home and advised her to go to hospital for further medical treatment,” he said.
SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
In a similar incident that occurred last week, a desperate Cowies Hill woman was injured when she jumped from a balcony to escape an armed robber.
